Tingling With Spider-Sex: An In-Depth Analysis On Who Spider-Man Lost His Virginity To

Who said superheroes are just for kids? Marvel Comics have introduced us to hundreds of characters, most of whom are extremely complex. One of the most famous and complex characters introduced by Marvel is Peter Parker, otherwise known as your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

The neatest part about Peter Parker is how real the character is. Characters like Superman and Batman are fun, but they aren’t relatable due to the fact that most of us aren’t aliens or billionaires. Peter Parker, on the other hand, is just a kid / young adult trying to get by in life. He is poor, and arguably faces just as many challenges without his Spider-Man mask as he does when he wears it.

Marvel has followed the adventures of Spider-Man for so long that we have been able to truly watch Peter grow up. When the comics first introduced the web-slinger, he was an awkward, nerdy, 15 year-old in high school. Currently in the comics, he is a mature adult around the age of 30. Those 15 years we have seen are arguably the most important and life-changing years of anyone’s life, so it has been interesting to see Peter change throughout the course of the comics.

During this time, we have seen Peter go through major events of his life. He was bitten by a radioactive spider and became Spider-Man. He lost his Uncle in an incident that was utterly avoidable. He fell in love with Gwen Stacy, and then accidentally snapped her neck in an attempt to save her. He faced numerous enemies, including the Green Goblin, Venom and the Sinister Six.

He fell in love again with Mary Jane Watson, the girl next door. He worked for the Daily Bugle, taking pictures of himself in costume, only for the editor to write anti-Spider-Man headlines. He moved out and lived independently, becoming an adult. He was attacked by the Venom symbiote, which eventually became his greatest enemy. He joined the Avengers. He publicly revealed his identity to the world. He became engaged to Mary Jane, but wasn’t able to maintain their relationship in the run-up to the wedding.

Peter Parker has gone through a lot in his life, but there is so much more than just those major events. One of the most intimate moments for anyone during that time of their life is not only falling in love for the first time, but having sex for the first time. But who did Peter Parker lose his virginity to?

The comics never come out and say it, and there are implications going multiple ways for who Peter knocked boots with first. However, after a good amount of studying the comics, they seem to point us in a certain direction. Let’s take a look at some of the options.

Gwen Stacy

Gwen Stacy is considered to be Peter’s first serious girlfriend. He briefly dated Liz Allen, who appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming, before Gwen, but their age difference in the comics would be enough to let us know that nothing happened between the two colleagues. While the possibility of Peter and Gwen participating in coitus may seem like a strong possibility, it really was not.

Not only were they both quite young when they dated, but Peter at one point admits that he never sunk the sausage with Gwen. In a rather confusing story arc known as Sins Past, the two long-forgotten children of the late Gwen Stacy try to say Peter is their father. Peter explains that it isn’t possible, since he and Gwen never got it on. As it turns out, the children’s father was actually Norman Osborn! Now if that isn’t 10x worse, I don’t know what is.

Mary Jane Watson

There are many people who believe that Peter and Mary Jane made whoopee early in their relationship. This is implied by a particular moment from The Amazing Spider-Man #149-200 where Peter enters MJ’s house to seemingly bury the bone. You can see this moment in reference below.

It may seem like Peter and MJ stuffed the turkey that night, but Mary Jane’s character means that may not have indulged in a bedroom rodeo of any kind. Mary Jane is canonically Christian, and would often avoid intimacy in such a manner as this. It’s not to say that they didn’t roast the broomstick before marriage, but it is quite apparent that MJ wasn’t as quick to act as most other girls. Because of this, all signs point to one particular love interest thumping thighs with Peter before MJ could…

Felicia Hardy, a.k.a. Black Cat

pider-Man villain / occasional hero Black Cat actually had a strong relationship with Peter Parker before he began dating Mary Jane exclusively. Felicia is known for living on the wild-side and trying crazy things — much like Catwoman from DC Comics — and this certainly played a serious part in her relationship with Spider-Man. Their relationship was quite exciting, and she took Peter in new directions he had never been in before.

While Marvel never explicitly showed them churning butter, it’s a safe bet that Spider-Man and Black Cat rocked the casbah at least once. The excitement of their relationship was based on the fact that they did not reveal their identities to each other, creating an element of mystery. With all of this excitement during their relationship, Spidey was sure to have played hanky-panky with Black Cat at some point. With a girl as wild as that, I highly doubt teenage Peter Parker could have resisted.

Now, we don’t know for sure, but all signs seem to hint that Peter Parker lost his virginity to Black Cat, who was certainly no virgin when their relationship began. Of course, there could be more elements we never saw, and perhaps he did try makin’ bacon with Gwen or Mary Jane first. However, when it comes down to it, Black Cat is most likely the first person to go mattress dancing with Spider-Man. They were just too exciting together!
